Celanese to supply vinyl acetate monomer to China’s Wanwei

Global chemical and specialty materials company Celanese has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to supply vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) to China-based Anhui Wanwei Group.

The MoU calls for a long-term commercial agreement for the supply of Celanese’s green technology-based, ethylene-based VAM to Wanwei from its chemical industrial facility in Nanjing, China.

This will support about 50% of the company’s product needs in the manufacture of chemicals, fibres, and new material in China’s Anhui Province.

The China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) has recognised Celanese’s VAM as an environmentally sustainable product.
